01 Testers

Get paid to say what you think.

Businesses want to know why visitors leave their site. You use it the way you would use any site, say what goes through your head, and get paid for it.

20 to 50 US dollars per session

20 to 50 minutes · paid within seven days

You need a computer or a phone with a working microphone. Nothing else.

02 The work

What a session actually is

01
We send you a site and a task

Buy a pair of shoes. Find the return policy. Book an appointment. Something a real customer would try to do.

02
You do it, out loud

You share your screen and say what you are thinking: including when you are lost, annoyed or unsure. That is the part that has value.

03
You get paid

Within seven days of the session, by the method you choose. No invoice to write.

A magnifying glass resting on a printed report, passages circled in red and numbered in the margin
What you say becomes this. Your words, and the places where you hesitated, turned into a marked-up report a business can act on. You never write it, you only talk.
03 Pay

How you are paid

20 to 50 US dollars per session

The amount is stated before you accept a session, so you never start without knowing what it pays. Longer sessions cover more journeys, and pay more.

No obligation

You accept the sessions you want. Declining one changes nothing about the next.

04 Who

Who we are looking for

This is the part people get wrong. We do not want experts. A website that only works for people who know websites is a website that does not work.

  • You use the internet normally, you shop, you book, you compare
  • You are comfortable saying what you think, including when it is critical
  • You have a computer or a phone, and a quiet half hour
  • You speak English, French or Spanish as a first language or close to it

You do not need experience in design, in testing, or in technology. If anything, having none makes you more useful.

05 Terms

What we never ask of you

  • To buy anything, ever. If a task involves a purchase, we stop before payment.
  • To give a card number, a bank account or an identity document.
  • To say nice things. An honest complaint is worth more to us than praise.
  • To be available at fixed times. You take what suits you.

06 Apply

Apply to be a tester

We are looking for ordinary people, not specialists. If your profile matches an audit we are running, we write to you with the session, how long it takes and what it pays, before you decide.

Apply to be a tester

We are looking for ordinary people, not specialists. If your profile matches an audit we are running, we write to you with the session, how long it takes and what it pays, before you decide.

01Who you are
02What you speak

Pick the ones you speak as a first language or close to it.

03Which market can you represent?

We only run sessions in these markets for now. Pick the one you live in, or the one whose sites you use.

Your age group

How comfortable are you with technology?

Not a test. Someone who finds websites hard is often the most useful tester: they stop where a confident user pushes through without noticing.

04What you use

We report every defect with the device and browser it happened on, so a developer can reproduce it.

Do you have a working microphone?

05A site that annoyed you

This is the one question that matters. We are not looking for the right answer: we are looking for whether you can put a difficulty into words. That is the whole job.

For example: I tried to cancel a subscription and the link was buried three pages deep, under a heading that said something else.

By sending this you agree to be contacted about test sessions. Nothing else, ever.
