Common questions

Your questions before launching a first audit, and those you haven’t thought of yet.

02 The service

What the service actually is

01Why choose YuzuTrace?

Because you get the finished work, not a tool to learn. Where others hand you a platform and hours of video to sift through, we hand you the result.

  • Human insights over data. Analytics tell you where your visitors drop off. Our testers help you understand the underlying causes.
  • Experience and function. An obstacle often comes down to a bug. Alongside the testers, our team runs its own functional check.
  • Ready to apply. You get a report ranking every obstacle by severity, with the fix to implement.
  • Clarity over volume. No statistics to decode. Whether you test with five people or a custom group of testers, we filter out the noise to deliver a straight-to-the-point summary.
02What exactly is a user testing audit?

Real people attempt a real task on your website, recording their screen and thinking aloud as they go. We watch every session, cross-reference where they struggled, and write it up as a ranked list of obstacles with a concrete recommendation for each one. It answers why visitors leave, which analytics never can.

03Are the sessions moderated?

No, they are unmoderated. Each tester completes the task alone, at a time that suits them before the deadline, with their screen and voice recorded as they think aloud. Our team then watches every session in full. Live moderated sessions, where one of us guides the tester in real time, are available on quote in a custom audit.

04Do I need to install anything on my site?

No. No scripts, no tags, no extensions, no admin access. You give us a public URL and we handle the rest.

05How much does it cost?

A functional check costs US$397 for one feature checked end to end: we tell you what breaks. Audits, which reveal the obstacles on your website, start at US$797 for one journey with five testers, and US$1,997 for three journeys with fifteen testers, five per journey, on desktop and mobile. For larger needs, we create custom audits. The Functional check is included in all audits. Our standard package prices are public: no surprises.

06My site has many pages, which plan should I choose?

The number of pages does not matter. What matters is how many journeys you want tested. A journey is one goal a visitor is trying to complete, from first click to last. A five-page site and a five-hundred-page site can both have a single journey worth auditing.

List the goals that matter to your business and count them: that is your number of journeys.

Not sure how your site breaks down? Write to contact@yuzutrace.com and tell us what you sell, and we will suggest the split before you order.

07How is this different from a subscription-based testing platform?

A platform sells you access. You still have to write the screening questionnaire, recruit, watch hours of video, and figure out what it all means: a job in itself. We do this work and hand you the conclusion. You pay per audit, not per month.

08Do I need a minimum amount of traffic, or should I wait before testing?

No. What is broken for ten visitors is broken for ten thousand. It is actually the best time to run a check: right before your first visitors arrive.

09I get traffic but no sales. Is this for me?

Yes, this is when testing pays off the most. Traffic without conversion almost always points to a technical or usability roadblock on your site.

10Which plan should I choose?

Start from the question you are asking. “Does it work?” The functional check answers that, and it is enough. “Do my visitors understand my site, or do they get lost?” You need a Journey package, where real people carry out the whole path. The check is included in every Journey package, so you never have to choose between the two. Then count your journeys: one if only one really matters, three if you want to compare them, custom beyond that.

03 The testers

Who does the testing

11Who are the testers?

Ordinary people, chosen for one thing: they can tell you what they felt. Automated tools catch bugs, but they never get lost, never give up, never change their mind. So they miss everything that actually drives a visitor away. What we report is what real people went through on your site.

We recruit most of them in Canada, and each tester works only in the language they know best: English, French, or Spanish. They go through your site on their own device, with no idea which problems you already suspect.

Need testers in another country? Get in touch.

12Which languages do you test in?

In English, French, and Spanish, by testers who perfectly master your customers’ language. Having your platform tested by people who don’t grasp your linguistic nuances won’t teach you anything actionable.

04 The report

What you receive

13Will I have to watch hours of video?

No, and that is rather the point. We watch every session ourselves and hand you a ranked list with the quotations already pulled out and written down. You never receive raw footage, and you never need to.

14How long does it take?

7 to 10 business days from your payment for the three listed plans. If your site requires login credentials, the timeframe starts the moment we receive them. You track the progress in your dashboard, and we email you as soon as the report is published.

Custom audits have their own timeframe, agreed upon with you before starting.

15What if the report tells me nothing useful?

Five people walking a full journey always produce observations: what varies is severity, not whether there is anything to find. Some audits surface a critical blocker that was costing sales every day. Others come back with minor points only. A report with no critical obstacle is still worth having: you know your journey holds up. You also know where to stop looking.

05 The order

Before you order

16Do I have to sign a contract or subscribe?

Neither. You pay per audit. Nothing recurring, nothing to cancel, no minimum commitment.

17What if you cannot find testers for my market?

If your market needs a profile we cannot fill, we tell you before the work starts and you choose: wait, widen the profile, or take a full refund. We never use testers from the wrong market and call it your audit.

18What do you need from me?

Three things, and it takes about five minutes:

  • Your site address, live or staging
  • What the testers should try to do there
  • A few quick choices: device, testers’ language, the audience you are aiming at

If your pages are behind a login, we ask for nothing at checkout. A separate link arrives after the order.

On staging, just make sure the site is reachable from outside your network.
